Nuneaton's oldest public house sold

Cartwright Marston Commercial have successfully disposed of the freehold interest in Crystal Palace, Gadsby Street, Nuneaton acting on behalf of BBank Limited and selling to a local investor.
Guy Hands of Cartwright Marston Commercial agreed terms with Mr Dip Singh acting on behalf of BBank Ltd at a figure in excess of the £260,000 asking price.
Guy Hands commented:
“We were instructed by BBank Ltd to dispose of this property which was surplus to their requirements and had been marketed by out of town property consultants for some time without success. Before particulars had been set up we had managed to agree terms with a local investor but unfortunately early into the transaction they had to pull out. Acting quickly on this news, within the week, we used our extensive mailing list to agree terms with Mr Singh.”
The new owner Dip Singh believes that: “Old style public houses are a dying breed and community led locals are rarity. I took this opportunity to bring this traditional public house back to life because it is a shining example of how pubs used to be. We will be offering a full sky sports package including At The Races and Setanta Sports channels on 46’’ high definition LCD screens together with a wide selection of beers and spirits”
Guy concluded, “Moved to its present site in 1909, The Crystal Palace is the oldest public house in Nuneaton and part of Nuneaton’s history. I am delighted to have concluded this transaction in such a short space of time, and to an investor that is going to refurbish it to its old glory.”
